This program is the first in a series focusing on age-specific care. This series covers cultural and communications considerations that apply across many age ranges. This program describes physical, motor, sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial characteristics and considerations for neonates, infants and toddlers. Objectives: • After completing this course, the learner should be able to: • Describe the importance of age-specific care for neonates, infants, and toddlers • Explain cultural and language differences that exist among patient populations • Describe age-specific care, nursing considerations and safety measures for neonates (birth to 28 days), younger infants (4 weeks to 6 months) and older infants (6 months to 1 year), and toddlers (1 year to 3 years).
