Neonates, Infants, and Toddlers: Beginning Pediatric Nursing
Cinema House Films Inc.
Attuned to physiological issues as well as emotional, psychological, and cultural concerns, this program guides nursing trainees through the earliest stages of childhood. It addresses the specific needs of neonates (birth to 28 days old), infants (1 month to 1 year old), and toddlers (1 year to 3 years old). Viewers are shown ways of working with a patient’s entire family and dealing with needs associated with the social environment, while methods of nontraumatic physical assessment and care techniques are also presented. After viewing the video, trainees should have a solid working knowledge of the characteristic traits of all three developmental groups and the recommended forms of care appropriate to them.
